Rear Spring Installation

Next we were ready to install the new Intrax springs. Here you can visually see the height difference between the original equipment spring and the new unit from Intrax. Great color too!
To install the new spring we needed to compress it slightly but not too much as it is shorter than the original. We placed the spring over the strut, re-installed the upper strut mount and torque the bolt to the manufacturers specifications and finally released the spring pressure.
Here is the final assembly as it was ready to be re-installed into the vehicle. We re-installed it in the reverse order of removal. We made sure that all bolts were torqued to the manufacturer’s specifications.
Kirsten chose to up-size her wheels and tires 2 sizes from the original 14" wheels to a 16" set. She chose Helo 711 wheels with a straight plus-2 conversion 195-50-16 tire. What a difference in looks!
Next we installed the new tire and wheel assembly, alignment equipment and then moved to the front of the vehicle.
