Saturn Project Car
Rear Strut Removal

The first step in the spring installation was to remove the tire and wheel assembly from all four corners.
Next we removed the upper strut mount nuts. To access these on this application we needed to remove the rear package tray cover. There are three 13mm nuts on each side.
Next we removed both of the strut-to-knuckle bolts. We used care when removing the final bolt as the strut will fall if not supported. The strut was then removed from the vehicle.
Here we used a strut vice to support the strut securely. We then used a quality spring compressor to compress the spring in order to remove the upper strut mount. After removing the strut mount and spring it is a good idea to inspect the strut. If the struts need to be replaced, this is the time to do it
