| Next we moved to the front of the vehicle.
We first removed the 2 lower strut to knuckle bolts and
the bracket that retains the brake line to the strut. |
 |
| Here we removed the three upper nuts that
retain the strut in the strut tower. As we removed the
last nut we supported the strut assembly so that it would
not fall out of the vehicle. |
|
| Again we choose a suitable
spring compressor to compress the spring in order to
disassemble the strut assembly. |
 |
| The process on the front
was the same as the rear. Remove the upper strut nut,
bearing plate, spring retainer and spring. We then installed
the new coil over components and then the original mounting
components in the reverse order of removal. Remember,
this is the perfect time to inspect the upper strut mounts
and struts to insure that they are in good order. If
these are worn, replace them. |
 |
| After the strut assembly
was reassembled it was then ready to be installed back
into the vehicle. We installed the top nuts first then
the strut to knuckle bolts. |
 |
| After both sides were
completed and the vehicle was lowered off the jacks,
we again measured
the ride height. We decided on a 1.75" drop and
adjusted each coil to achieve this |
